Wireless Networking
Wireless networking allows you to connect to your local area network on a compatible device without any wires. The data is transmitted using radio frequencies. This means you can have Internet access anywhere in the house. How does it work and how does it benefit people?
Wireless networking removes the need for wires. It allows you to connect to your local area network connection anywhere in the house which means you can surf the web in your garden or look up recipes in the kitchen.
You can also share your Internet connection through all your WIFI enabled devices making the Internet connection independent from a personal computer. This is achieved by using a device called a router. This means that you no longer have to rely on a computer for the Internet connection, you could be surfing the net on many different devices in your home at the same time.
The data is transmitted via radio waves from an access point to the wireless receiver on a device such as a laptop. The access point is connected to the Internet.
How does our installation service benefit you?
We provide only the best quality/value for money products, which often carry a three years manufacturer's warranty.
Placing the access point (the transmitting device connected to the Internet) is also very important. Our engineers will install this unit in the most effective place providing it is convenient for the client and any existing network installations.
The connection will be fully tested and a full survey will be carried out upon completion.
Security is also a major factor with wireless networks as your networks needs to keep your neighbours out. Our engineers will ensure that your wireless network is secured using the latest encryption technologies.
Once the installation is complete we will then show you how to use the wireless network and how to get the most from it including:
- Always on Internet connection on each capable device
- File sharing
- Printer sharing
- Keeping the network secure
- Explanation in plain English of the settings so the customer knows how to add new devices to the network.
